5.0 out of 5 stars Sense, for once, 18 Dec 2012
What a good book. Amidst all the hype in management writing, this one just says the essential, in plain language. You find yourself muttering "yes, of course", and "I wish I'd said that".
No wonder Tesco made strides with such a clear thinker at the helm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Subtle and gripping, 15 Oct 2012
What a good book. It shows the comparative pluses and minuses of two societies without passing judgment (a rare skill). It also shows the dilemmas that face anyone who makes a decisive change in their life and considers whether it could be reversed. Anyone in a mixed marriage will appreciate it, but also anyone who has migrated between societies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good fun, 8 Dec 2009
A great throwback to the 1960s for those who lived them. A nice plot that makes an unlikely idea develop quite naturally. And lots of good fun.
