4.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining read, 9 Nov 2011
Brian Barwick was an ordinary football fan who became a football executive, working as a broadcaster and producer for the BBC and ITV, then running the FA for a while before decamping to control his own consultancy business. 5.0 out of 5 stars Top Class, 25 Dec 2010
Having watched and admired this duo for most of my life, I can't quite say how much I enjoyed this magnificent biography of them. It is astonishingly well-researched and written with great insight and affection. I've never read a 'showbiz' book that's as impressive as this. Really top drawer.
Hello: The Autobiography by Leslie Phillips

Leslie Phillips has led a long and notable career, but, after appearing disinclined to write his memoirs, he seems to have agreed to do so rather half-heartedly - or, to be kinder, with a degree of discretion. We get to read many accounts of productions, but surprisingly little about his various co-stars or his views on the profession. There are some amusing anecdotes and some moving moments, but generally the book left me wanting to know much more about what had really inspired him and satisfied him.
