In My Own Words:
Most of my reviews here seem to revolve around sexuality - it isn't my only interest in life, but it is a topic I think about. I'm a male who is exploring his bisexuality and relationship with the wider world. I tend to think that most of us lose touch with the holistic view of sexuality - that is what I am trying to regain.

69 Positions of Joyful Gay Sex: Special Edition by Bel Ami

This is a really lovely book, and one of the first commissioned by Stephan Niederwieser after he took over the helm at Bruno Gmunder publishers, who specialise in high quality titles catering for a gay audience.

The word 'Joyful' in the title sums up my experience of owning and reading the book too. This is a high quality, colourful, modern and visually sumptuous work, made all the more pleasing by the inclusion of three Bel Ami models who feature in full colour, full page, specially commissioned photographs throughout. Firstly, don't be fooled by the description. This is not a book, it is barely two and a half pages long. It is also the very embodiment of everything I loathe and detest about the explosion of kindle content. Nowhere else could such dire content ever find an outlet. Whereas in the past the act of having to find a publisher formed a useful filter and weeded out the unreadable, now absolutely anyone can publish absolutely anything. As a result every gormless idiot now thinks they are a writer and the World is deluged with pointless, artless drivel. This "book" is a prime example. By all means download it and laugh at the total lack of writing skill, vocabulary or plot, but my only only… Read more

From the dawn of civilisation, humankind has been fascinated by the Phallus. Cave paintings, ithyphallic statues, amulets, the art and custom of ancient Greece, Priapic gods and satyrs. In ancient Rome the Phallus was a commonly used symbol, adorning doorways, jewellery and common household objects. It was crafted as a talisman in the same way that the Phallus is displayed and venerated to this very day in Japan, Bhutan and other parts of Asia. It is still possible to take part in ceremonies that worship the Phallus, attend shrines, admire Phallus decorated architecture both ancient and modern and even visit the seaside theme park if you happen by South Korea. And Vivienne Westwood has… Read more
