This is a good game but having now played it numerous times, it feels as though the scope for strategic development is a bit limited. Once you know all the cards and learn the various combinations, the game can start feeling predictable. The large element of luck involved counters this to some extent - although if you value stratgey over luck, this can be frustrating in its own right.

Another downside, as noted by others, is the lack of interaction between players. Despite the ability to influence other people's hands, it can sometimes feel as though you are all just playing your own game at the same table.

This book had flashes of apocalyptic brilliance but overall felt like little more than a blokes' shoot-em up.

The book's strength was its grim vision of England in the aftermath of a pandemic. Timlin's violent and grisly descriptions of London in the final hours of an event that wipe out most of humanity were disturbingly realistic. In the second part of the book we get occasional glimpses of the dark, bloodthirsty society that developed later. These too are powerful and believable.

But unfortunately, most of the book felt like endless descriptions of the main character killing people and the various weapons he used. The apocalyptic setting and protagonist blowing out… Read more

I have been using my Sony Ericsson as an MP3 player for a couple of years but external noise interference with the in-ear headphones supplied used to drive me nuts. I tried adapters allowing me to connect a proper set of headphones to my phone but could hardly hear anything. I eventually succumbed and bought a proper MP3 player but this just wasn't as convenient as using my phone, which I always have with me, and so I switched back to my Sony Ericsson.
