GTECH Cordless Sweeper 7.2v NiMH SW02 by G-Tech

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly mighty, 7 July 2014
I ordered this for my mum to use (she'd been finding lugging a traditional vacuum up and down stairs a bit challenging). I had initially been tempted by the Gtech Air Ram - on the strength of the product description, Press and customer reviews - but my dad objected to the price. This seemed like the ideal compromise.

My initial impressions of this weren't entirely favourable. The sweeper arrives partially assembled in a box smaller than that of many a netbook: which was a little disconcerting. I wanted a low-cost Windows machine with reasonable storage to partner my Mac (rather than to go down the Bootcamp route for using Windows based programmes). Despite the brushed-metal look, blue plastic parts on the lid and user area also have a shiny finish that shows up even the slightest touch, is very light reflective and thus a bit distracting.

To date, touch wood, I've… Read more

The 11+ in my LEA has changed for 2014, moving from all verbal reasoning to CEM (Durham University) format - which includes questions on verbal reasoning, non- verbal reasoning, English and Maths skills. The format change, combined with the comparatively scant availability of resources marketed specifically for this test has induced panic amongst parents. This set of CGP papers is one of a thankfully increasing number of CEM 11+ targeted resources - and as such is a very useful thing.

Since the Durham University board don't release official practice papers/resources, the CEM paper is essentially an unknown quantity. What is known is that it contains a variety of elements, and… Read more
