Another good Denzel Washington film. He really doesn't disappoint and produces another good performance here. I'll keep this short, since people have already gone over the plot. This isn't a complex film, and when looking deeper into it a few bad points can be pulled out of it. But, on the surface this is an entertaining film that could be watched again. Some great fight sequences (that Washington himself performed), good performances from Washington, Gary Oldman and the impressive Mila Kunis. All topped off with a good twist.

Overall, not a classic, but entertaining and defiantely worth a look. Probably more of a love/hate film, so maybe renting it first would be a better idea… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressive, 19 Mar 2010
As soon as I heard about this film I was very excited. Sounded like a great plot, plus DiCaprio and Scorsese make a great team. DiCaprio is fantastic, and had it been released around Oscar time I'm sure he would have been in the running for a Best Actor nomination. I won't say much about the plot, as it is best to go in and not know much about it. But, a casual film viewer that just wants entertainment may not enjoy this. It… Read more

Since there are no reviews currently, I guess I'll add one so people know whether this film is worth viewing.
On paper, this film sounds simple, with a typical storyline. But, if you dig deeper this becomes a very powerful drama. Capt. Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) is going off to fight for his country, leaving behind his wife Grace (Natalie Portman)and his two daughters. At the same time, his brother Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal) has just got out of prison. I won't give anything away, but what follows is a very emotional story that not only shows the effects of war, but how people can change drastically in a matter of weeks. Being a fan on both Portman and Gyllenhaal, I was instantly drawn to… Read more
