Read all three books. Thought Sunset Song was by far the best. I could relate to the life and times covered in the story even though I was born about 40 - 50 years after the period covered in the book. Planning to attend Theatre production of Sunset Song in September. Highly recommend these books. Once you have read the first you will probably want to read the other two. Got the feeling while reading these books that they seemed to have been written by a woman. Would be interested to know whether anyone else felt the same.

Having seen some episodes of this Classic on TV I thought that I knew the story really well, but I found that I got more out of the book than I expected. I think that it might have been a wonderful fantasy for someone reading this book when it was first published but it would be totally alien to someone thinking it could all happen like that today.
Wasn't sure what was supposed to have happened at the end of the story as I wasn't sure what was suggested in the final paragraph. I'll put it down to old age in my case.
The Fife Coastal Path: The Official Guide by Derek Abbott
4.0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile read., 2 Feb 2014
We have thoroughly enjoyed walking the Fife Coastal Path, (Starting from Kincardine Bridge) and this book did provide some very interesting background information on the places along the way. Since the book was written the the Coastal Path has been extended at both ends so it does not cover the whole walk.
