Someone online described it as "pastoral electronica"... I found this a very apt description! Don't take me wrong, I love Foxx' Metamatic-era type stuff but I also very much enjoy the title track of The Garden. If you like that, you should try this and prepare to be surprised!

If, for whatever reason, you are interested in buying a compilation with so-called cheatin' songs, then this is a good place to start. It contains a few real crackers - The Impressions' "You've Been Cheatin'", Bill Withers' "Who Is He (And What Is He To You?)", Luther Ingram's "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right", Billy Paul's "Me and Mrs Jones" and Don Covay's underestimated "I Was Checkin' Out she Was Checkin' In" but also a few lame 'versions' (remixes, re-recorded versions) of tracks by Clarence Carter and William Bell. Ben E. King's "You Still Move Me" is unsubstantial, which makes the compilation end with a whimper… Read more
