Triumph of the Heart: The Story of Statins by Jie Jack Li
This is the story of statins as seen by someone from the industry. Not a great read as it is a bit repetitive for each of the companies involved, but if you want to know how big pharma works then the story is here. It doesn't have much about the trials that have established the role of statins and the controversy about their place in treatment amongst the medical fraternity. However, as someone who has prescribed statins, it does explain why the reps that have been flogging me the products seem to have changed so often!
Bicycle 9/16" Resin & Alloy Folding Bike Pedals Coyote

A useful replacement for standard Dahon product which fell to bits after about 6 months. The rubber grips shoes well and is large enough to make a good pedal with no risk of the feet slipping off even in the wet. It is a considerable improvement over the all metal alternative which is robust but slippery in the wet.

The locking mechanism seems a little flimsy but seems to hold well. However, unlocking the pedals is not that easy and does require getting the hands dirty. Good price and (so far) good performance make this a sensible alternative to the standard product.
