LG BP325 3D Slim Smart Blu-ray Player - Black by LG Electronics
I bought this as a gift for my sister in law, who was very pleased to receive it. She has no blu-rays (well, a few after Christmas) but a large DVD collection, which this player upscales superbly. On a 42" HD plasma TV via HDMI, compared to the scart output of an old DVD player the picture quality difference is absolutely striking - much more vibrancy, detail and life in the image. Blu ray output is, obviously, sublime. The remote control is fine and the unit is attractive, very small which may be a good thing
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs [Blu-ray] [2009] Blu-ray ~ Phil Lord
I bought this blu ray for my niece as a Christmas present and she (5) and her younger brother (3) loved it. I saw this at the cinema and thought it was great, quite fast-paced (short even) with great rendering. Nothing revolutionary about the sort of story being told but it's a good film and worth the asking price.
Ketostix Reagent Strips Ketone - 50 strips by Bayer

A good way to check on your progress with respect to ketogenesis occurring on a low-carb diet protocol. Just pee on a strip and 15 seconds later check the colour against the scale on the back of the tub. For me I started eating very low carb on 01/01/14 and after about 5 days I hit trace amounts of ketones, then 1.5mmol/litre a few days later, with nil inbetween and at all other times. Good fun and doing this gives me the extra incentive to stick to my desired eating schedule, as it is some sort of "proof" of dieting progress. Certainly weight comes off eating in this manner, and eating quite a lot even.
