Snatchers (A Zombie Novel) by Shaun Whittington
Snatchers (A Zombie Novel) by Shaun Whittington
1.0 out of 5 stars This must be a joke, 17 Jan 2014
That is the only explanation I can come up with. The way the english language is butchered started out as mildly entertaining but eventually I had to give up reading. The woods were described as 'condensed' (many times) zombies as 'fiends', everybody 'smirks' before speaking, phrases like 'Jake trounced through the grass' or 'it never baffled Gary where the young boy could have got a blade from to make the insertions' are everywhere.

Really awful. I do not understand the good reviews at all.

The start of this was excellent. A doctor decides she cannot help with the spiralling epidemic where she is and decides to flee. Hooking up with an unlikely companion she makes her way across America. All good stuff, a bit of survival detail and lots of excitement.

But then they get to where they are going and it goes a bit wrong.

The survival details vanish, relationships develop at an unrealistic pace and the ending is rushed.

If the whole book had been like the first third this would be one of the best. Shame.

Top notch. Allison Hewitt is trapped in the staff room of a bookshop as the zombie outbreak rages outside. She cant stay there forever. She needs to get to saftey and to find her mum. Character driven frightening and funny I couldnt put it down.
