Dax Wax Blue Short And Neat Light Hair Dress 99gm by DAX

I've been using Dax waxes for years - I've got very thick hair and when it's short red dax is the best stuff for it. I then start to use blue dax which is lighter once my hair grows longer. I also use a bit of blue as a base after washing my hair then use red to maintain it. I've recently converted my wife to blue dax - she's gone through endless "curl creams" for years and I've always said she should use blue dax. Finally last year she ran out of her latest expensive rubbish of fancy curl cream and was forced to use blue dax....she now uses it all the time!

One thing though that I've always thought is odd is that the red ("wave and groom") and blue ("short and neat") daxes seem to be named the wrong way round - red dax is thick tough hard wax that needs to be warmed slightly (fine in summer but leave on your radiator before you use it in winter) before using it but leaves a nice firm hold with a matt finish i.e. great for short hair and leaves it looking neat… Read more

This is a bit of a knee-jerk review so please excuse me if I'm a bit negative in parts. I'll probably change my mind in a few weeks which I did completely with Crack The Skye (CTS) initially giving it a 3/5 then re-reviewing (after living off it for a few months and subsequently realising its genius) and giving it a 5. Although this album isn't really 'prog' in the same way as CTS was - it definitely shows Mastodon progressing. Overall it sounds, looks & feels different to other albums - less proggy than the last 3 efforts, less heavy and manic as the first 2 albums.
