On page one we find Will Burrows digging with his father. It's all downhill from there.
There is no spark, no ambition, no charisma in character, language or plot that could hold your interest for longer than the time it takes to turn this overweight tome into a waste paper basketball.
Use of language is compleltley ufnocusd and self consciously grandiose for no purpose. It stalls a plot that should by rights be fast paced and clouds the obvious. Frankly it bores you to the brink of tears.
