Walking the Woods & the Water: In Patrick Leigh Fe&hellip by Nick Hunt

As a fan of PLF I was drawn to the concept of someone replicating his walk and enjoyed reading about the changes after 80 years. But itís a difficult task to make a book about walking interesting and while he writes well and it held me at the start the constant daily routine of walk, see sights and meet people became a bit repetitive.
I'm impressed with Nick's achievement and donít regret reading the book which I would recommend to those who loved the original books but overall it didnít hold my attention more than 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and Informative, 31 July 2011
I really liked this book. Turnbull's style is chatty and witty but at the same time very informative. He obviously knows his stuff but does not talk down to the reader. I'm a keen hillwalker with an interest in the geology of the hills and I learned a lot from this book. I keep going back to it for further insights. Highly recommended for anyone else with the same interests.
