BBC Earth - British Wilderness / Wild Britain [ 20&hellip Blu-ray ~ Joseph Fieness

This series from BBC Television is superb. It's original title is "The Great British Year" it was shown on BBC1 back in 2013. For this release in the Netherlands it has been renamed "Wild Kingdom" (It is also available on DVD)
It is narrated by Joseph Fiennes, and is split into 4 parts.

1. Winter
2. Spring
3. Summer
4. Autumn

There are no English subtitles, they are in Dutch, however there in no dubbing into Dutch, so you can watch the series as it was broadcast.
There is one difference however, the original programmes on BBC1 included a "making of" at the end of each episode, these are not present on this release… Read more

The BBC wildlife documentary "Living Britain" is one of the best things I have have seen in years on BBC TV. It's surprising that although many programmes on african wildlife appear on television regularly, there are not very many that look at wildlife on our own doorstep, but this is an absolute gem. I will give this series 5 stars for the sheer beauty of the photography and filming used in the programmes.
However the packaging that these discs come in is at best descibed as shoddy. They are little more than cardboard sleeves, and are not in proper DVD boxes. I would have thought that Simply Home Entertainment that produce the discs could have treated this series with a little more… Read more

I agree with some of the other reviews that while Macca and Wings performance is superb, and the picture quality great (remember it was filmed in 1976) it is a pity that the sound quality does not match.
The bass drop out's happen on both the Blu Ray and DVD releases, but from what I gather not all discs are affected.
Eagle Rock should hold their heads in shame over the sloppy way in which these discs have been released. There is no excuse for this.
Paul McCartney should get involved, as I don't think he would be too happy in the way this release has been handled. People who bought the Blu Ray/DVD should ask Eagle Rock for replacements with all the bass signals as it should… Read more
