I loved this book, I read it at every opportunity and it left me wanting more!
As ever the characters grip you and are very believable. The politics and military action is realistic and exciting to read without any techno babble to befuddle the reader. The political intrigue and plotlines make this story a great combination of space opera, thriller and all action. It is well written and plays on your emotions. When the characters have set backs and stuff happens it is easy to emote with them and feel appalled and frustrated when they do. It was a smooth read and really kept me captivated. I look forward to the next instalment.

It is still a good stand alone read but has elements similar to Outside Context Problem and was a little too much like V. That said I still really enjoyed it and it kept me wanting more. The characters as ever are very real and can easily be related to and rely on a very human aspect to win the day, unlike a lot of other authors who blah on about super human… Read more

I really liked this book, I will confess that this is the first time I have given this author only four stars...This is simply due to the amount of spelling errors and is not a reflection on the story telling at all.
This is a desperate tale of survival against massive overwhelming odds and a superior foe. Humanity is at the brink of extinction and have to develop new and radical ideas to survive.
There are some very interesting concepts and characters in this story and I like the interaction between them, not least the entity of the Mass Mind.
Although it is possibly quite a stereotypical sci fi story it holds its own and has a lot of unique points which make it an… Read more
