2.0 out of 5 stars Such a waste, 27 Nov 2012
I remember reading the first few roy grace novels and absolutely loving them, so much so that I still pass on the first 3 books to family and friends, but sadly it just went downhill after book 4, now its at the stage where it is almost embarrassing to read these, the plots, characters and dialogue are all awful, they just havent progressed at all. Seriously, find yourself a new author, Peter James is done.
P.S be sure to read Peter James old novels that do not feature Roy Grace, some are fantastic.

I honestly cant believe this book has been getting rave reviews on here, anyone who has followed the series from the start can surely see the last 3 efforts have basically been peter james smashing out a book as fast as humanly possible, the characters now are devoid of all personality that made the first 3 books so great, the storyline was absolute trash, literally no tension whatsoever. If you guys are giving this 5 stars I'd love to hear what you think about a) the first 3 books, 6 stars? b)decent crime fiction (i.e the lincoln lawyer). I have been discussing this book with 3 people who all share my opinion and we seriously think alot of reviews on here are fakes.

I read this book while I was on a snowboarding trip in Canada, it kept me completetly hooked throughout the plane/bus trips, seriously loved it, Peter James books tend to be good, especially his older work, for me, this is the best of the lot, (or at least the best of the books not related to the roy grace series)

Its essentially the story of a guy who has made an amazing computer which develops its own personality and becomes obsessed with him, whoever it see's as a threat, it starts to 'deal with'. This book was wrote quite a long time ago, but its actually more relevant now.

Again, cant recommend this book highly enough.
