I was four years old when the 1979 BBC production was aired for the first and only time on UK television and I can still remember it vividly. It had such an effect that I have tried in vain to obtain a copy both before and since the advent of the Internet but to no avail - the BBC has not released or repeated the show despite the huge cult following the show received.

Naturally, mother and father bought me the tv-tie-in novel which was one of the first novels I read, just a few years later. That particular copy, like the ugly-wugglies, had taken on a life of its own and secreted itself somewhere in the bowels of my parents' house and remains elusive (or, like a number of my Star… Read more

Great first single from the forthcoming album that screams down the airwaves "WAKE UP, we're back, you better get ready to Rock'n'Roll". It goes to show their talent that even their bubblegum, throwaway singles are as good as this, simple but catchy tune and great lyrics, Bono's love for wordplay is evident. This will be great live too.
This just sounds like a U2 song, but a post modern U2 song, great but simple riff and Bono's unmistakeable vocals make you realise how dull music has been in the charts. A sure fire number 1 and I can't wait for the new album at the end of the month.
Here we go, BOOGALOO !

Another poor offering from the one time genius of stand-up.
I watched this show with the upbeat hope that following the disappointing 'Dressed to Kill' that Eddie would have turned his back on his ill-informed political soap-boxing and returned to the genuinely hilarious form of 'Glorious'.
I was wrong.
I was also bored, disappointed and felt I had been preached to.
The jokes were in the main unfunny, but also predictable and punctuated with naive political and moral statements.
Izzard tried too hard to BE Eddie Izzard. The genius of his act used to be that he could shoot off and tangents which where as funny as the prepared body of work, and then flawlessly end up… Read more
