5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent advice, 14 Mar 2014
This book contains a large number of very sensible and practical tips, which would be particularly useful for anyone who needs (not merely wants) to learn a language but is apprehensive about doing so. I think I would advise beginning the study of grammar a little earlier in the language-learning process than Benny does, but I agree with 99 per cent of his advice. There were some techniques that I had never heard of that I shall certainly use from now on. One criticism for the publisher (not the author), though: I hate the cheap newsprint paper on which the book has been printed.

I agree with the earlier comment: the sound is fainter and fuzzier than on the old VHS videotape version, but I'll settle for that in exchange for the vastly improved picture quality.
The Best of Gibraltar (Globetrotter "The Best of") by Rowland Mead
This is a well-designed and comprehensive guide. It tells you all you need to know, and the outdated information is very minor and no worse than you would expect from a book that was published in 2009: for example, it says that there are no cinemas in Gibraltar, but now there are. I wish that something like this had been available before my first visit to Gibraltar in 1998,
