Apple Of My Eye Roy Head & The Traits MP3 Download
Roy Head originally recorded "Apple Of My Eye" around 1960, then re-recorded this US hit version in May 1965, at the same session as he recorded the excellent "Treat Her Right". "Apple Of My Eye" was Roy's third top 40 hit in the US.
Chronicles ~ Dave Edmunds
Chronicles ~ Dave Edmunds
This cd covers recordings from 1968, commencing with Dave Edmund's legendary version of "Sabre Dance" (released under the name of his band Love Sculpture) through to the 1980s. Good news - as the title of the cd indicates, the tracks are in chronological order; all the hits are here; and the cd is accompanied by an excellent 8 page booklet. My personal favourite tracks are "I Knew The Bride", and the aforementioned "Sabre Dance".
As most people probably know, Dave Edmunds is also an accomplished record producer. His work includes recordings by the Stray Cats, Status Quo, Everly Brothers, and Shakin' Stevens among many, many others.
Rock 'n' Soul/Beat 'n' Soul ~ Everly Brothers
Rock 'n' Soul/Beat 'n' Soul ~ Everly Brothers
This cd consists of the re-release of 2 albums originally on vinyl, "Rock 'N' Soul" and "Beat 'N' Soul", plus 9 bonus tracks.
"Rock 'N' Soul" consists of 11 tracks recorded in December 1964 and 1 track "I'm Gonna Move To The Outskirts Of Town" recorded in November 1961.
"Beat 'N' Soul" (12 tracks) was recorded in June 1965 .
These 2 lps represented the Everly Brothers very nearly back to their best.
The 9 bonus tracks, several of which I would class as very good, were recorded from December 1964 to April 1965.
So essentially this cd, together with the excellent accompanying booklet, is a history of the Everly Brothers' Warner Bros recordings from December 1964 to… Read more
