It's a mixed bag of Cardiacs-related gubbins and to be honest most of the highlights will have been snapped up already on the many other sources filched for this compilation by the ever-most ardent audience that Cardiacs seems to draw.
But there are some nice little curio's inside, the Jon Poole song in particular is sublime. The thread of showcasing the mellower side of the various stinky-handed projects of current/former Cardiacs does hang together quite well. In particular, the Spratleys Japs and Sea Nymphs songs weave neatly between the Cardiacs songs, with the choices of Lake of Puppies and William Drake being more obviously oddball (but no less enthralling).

I agree with the earlier review, once you know the general plot and setting as revealed on the cover, the fun does ebb somewhat.
I read this originally in an old hardback edition with no blurb on the back and was left to piece it all together as I went through it. Far more satisfying than having it handed to you.
