Speak Swahili, Dammit!: A tragic, funny African ch&hellip by James Penhaligon
What a very different lifestyle to anything most of us Westerners are ever likely to experience. It was a fascinating read and especially with the way in which he lived his life more as a member of the local community than as a Westerner - and the impact it still has on his memory and life.
The Original Miss Honeyford: Regency Season 1 by M.C. Beaton
As ever, once the heroine has met the man who seems most unlikely, in the early stages, he is destined to be her husband, ultimately. However, this has some far more interesting twists and turns in it than many of MCB's other books and the ending comes with its own surprises! Enjoy.
Columbanus: The Earliest Voice of Christian Irelan&hellip by Kate Tristram
Another excellent book by Kate Tristram, this time telling the history of Columbanus. I found it a bit difficult to get into initially but when I went back a second time and started at the beginning, it flowed much better and, as with Kate's 'The Story of Holy Island', I could hear her speaking the words as I read the book.
