I highly recommend this book. Each story draws you in and several of them take your breath away. There is something about the writing style that feels very personal almost like you're reading something private to the author. This was given to me as a gift and I will be buying several for friends for Christmas.

There is little to fear from this wonderful adaptation if you are a passionate fan of the book.Mrs Bennet is over the top its true but the book provides the majority of her hysterical lines!Colin Firths beauty is beyond description and the way he as Darcy looks at Elizabeth takes every red blooded womans breath away.I urge you to watch this through at least twice, pay close attention to the smaller roles, the Gardeners, the Lucas family,Mary Bennet, the warmth the actors give to their characters is a joy to behold.Above all else see it as Jayne Austin wrote it,a comment on manners, social restraint, frustration and the lack of decent men!!Then if you haven't already done so READ THE BOOK!!

I love this film for so many reasons. Not only do you get a high camp o.t.t opening that will take your breath away but you get a film that really knows what it is doing. Its true that you have a slice of American cheese at times but this is a film that is trully heart warming and very funny. The musical numbers are fantastic and full of energy and the acting is believable and at times suprisingly understated.Whoopi is a joy to watch so is Maggie Smith, the monks and nuns all play their parts to perfection giving off a warmth to their performance. My favorite scene is the one where Delorise gives Rita the book I dare you to watch it without having a tear in your eye!
