Learning Secrets: Intelligence in the Second Punic&hellip by Charles R. King
Gives the impression of being a chapter from a longer book. The author does not seem to know his intelligence terms, and manages to miss "Analysis" out of his definition of the important elements of intelligence. Little detailed consideration of the role of intelligence; in most cases it is plugged on to an account of the events.

Reasonably well written.

Very useful bit of kit.
Shrine of Stars: Confluence Book 3 by Paul McAuley
Sadly, highly derivative and lacking new insights. Some good McAuley literary jokes, but he had already written better books when this was originally published. Strictly for completists.
