Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Book 1) by J.K. Rowling
I first read this some years ago and decided to revisit it as a trial of my new Kindle and the 'Lending Library' feature.
I have to say I was hooked from the moment I started it; these books are definitely not only for children. The Kindle itself will be the subject of a separate review on Amazon, suffice it to say that I have already borrowed the second book in te series.

I am interested in silk painting and wanted to take my techniques further, and this book will let me do that.
It was very inexpensive and is amazing value for the advice and instruction it gives.
It is well laid out, with colour photographs all the way through, and step by step projects to follow.

A recommended read for silk painters.
A Complete Guide to Silk Painting by Susanne Hahn

I am interested in Silk Painting, having done a couple of kits in the past. I was initially put off ordering this book due to the price, but it is well worth it's money.
It is well written and set out logically; the 'experiments' and techniques used are clear to understand and well laid out.
The artwork in the book, both by the author herself and contributing artists is insipiring.
Admittedly the clothing designs in the back are somewhat 'dated' but the techniques used to create the finish are still viable.

If you are interested in taking your silk painting further then this is worth buying.
