I saw someone recommend this book on Twitter, and as he was a former UK distance runner competing in the Olympics before moving becoming a Canadian citizen, I thought he must know what he is talking about. Firstly what I wasn't expecting, but if I had read the reviews I should have been, was that the book is a series of interviews that took place towards the end of the 20th Century. But it works, the interviews are with the great and the good of British Distance running from the 80s (plus three from the 60s and 70s) and it questions the type of training these guys did and how long they were competing before running their marathon PB (something Brendan Foster needs to take into account next… Read more
