4.0 out of 5 stars Road Trip!!, 10 Feb 2014
This book had me gripped, the people Saffron met along the way were varied and so very interesting!! Sometimes the strong language made me blush but experiences need telling just like they were and not be as sugar coated. To have the nerve to just go wherever a trip takes you takes guts and Saffron had bucket loads. I read this book as part of a reading group but I would have happily paid for the privilege. Thanks Saffron.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a sensible idea!, 2 Feb 2014
Having worked in many care homes and also experienced the UK 's "person centred" home care system I would have done the same! To have done such a thing takes guts especially when deep down Tottie knows she will also be responsible for a alcoholic brother too.
Clear and concise writing style but I still felt the experiences with the author. There is humour and feeling which I enjoyed. Apologies for the late review (over a year late!)
Firewater, potholes & sardines - stories of a Brit&hellip by Jenny Grainer

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Jenny!, 30 Jan 2014
Thoroughly enjoyed Jenny's tales of an Algarve of the past. Having spent three wonderful holidays in a small fishing village in the east it was amazing to read that the central Algarve was once a completely different place. We forget how far Portugal has come! Great writing style that kept me to interested and wanting more.
