He has, it seems, made some effort to consult major works on some of the topics covered but there is scant evidence of consultation with experts in the topics covered, many of whom would have been pleased to check drafts, advise and steer the author in the right direction. This superb calendar is compiled by Professor Hans-Erhard Lessing, long recognised as a leading authority on bicycle history. He is also co-author of the forthcoming MIT Press book "Bicycle Design - an illustrated history". The quality is stunning, beautifully printed on high quality paper. The superb photographs include examples from various countries. When the year is over, you will not want to throw the calendar away. Calendars of this sort don't get better than this - highly recommended.

This book is still in print, as can easily be verified by checking Nielsen PubWeb. It can be ordered from the publisher, either direct or via normal trade channels, and Amazon could do that too, if they chose to. Visit hadland.wordpress.com for more information.
