This excellent doc covers my favorite era of the Who, when the bands youthfully exuberance created a sound far beyond the years, and that of their fellow peers. Indeed, exuberance barely does justice to the mad cap antics of a certain Keith Moon, with Roger, Pete and John forever trailing in his wake, certainly in the rock `n' roll stakes. Together, they were an irresistible foursome as this doc brilliantly pays homage to.

I have to admit I am a massive music geek so I was particularly relishing watching Punk Revolution NYC. At over three hours long, it may take some perseverance for the casual fan, but believe me, it is well worth it. The documentary offers an excellent insight into the New York music scene, starting with the Velvet Underground before moving through the decades. Rare for many documentaries these days, Punk Revolution NYC has an great cast of contributors, I mean like super amazing! Richard Hell and Alan Vega to name but a few.
