I bought this based on its reviews and have not been disappointed. The trap itself is well made and the perfect size for a squirrel. On the first day one of the squirrels was in and out for about an hour without triggering the trap. I then reset it and found that I had to make sure the catch was just lightly hooked under the bar. You may have to test yours with a stick a few times to find the optimum position for the hook. After that I was catching squirrels faster than I could dispose of them.

Now for the bit most people don't like. It is NOT illegal to catch a grey squirrel in the UK but it IS illegal to move them to another location. So if you do catch one you must despatch it… Read more

Great picture and features, let down by the noise, 8 May 2008

Before purchasing this model I read through a number of reviews and on the whole the ratings were really positive. I'm therefore rather puzzled as to why so few people have commented on the dreadful humming noise that this model makes. Or is it just the one I have? Perhaps other buyers don't focus on such things. Admittedly I have a small lounge and an open TV unit but I have never experienced this "flaw" with other HDD manufacturers. On the plus side the Humax has some great features, is quite easy to operate and for the price the picture quality is excellent. Pity I can't live with the noisy wee beast and alas this will be winging it's way to my elderly parents who can't at the moment… Read more

Harmonious 555 A little gem for the price, 12 May 2007

After reading mixed reviews I was a bit unsure about parting with money on yet another universal remote. I'm glad I took the plunge, this remote knocks spots of anything I've tried before (all those 4/5/6 in one things). I've probably spent about 2 hours tweaking to get the settings just as I want. I couldn't download the manual for some reason so had to work with just the software. Once I realised I could program the 555 simply by pressing the corresponding buttons on my original remotes I was well on the way to getting this unit to replicate everthing I needed.
