Coffin Dodgers by Gary Marshall
Coffin Dodgers by Gary Marshall
Some amusing bits, but not laugh out loud, not that well written, clumsy construction, blatantly obvious plot based on well tried theme of organ snatching. So no mystery or suspense, humour a bit contrived, although quite enjoyed chase through the casino as directed through Matt's earpiece.
Not in the same class as Bookmyre etc,
But it was cheap!

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably bad, 10 Nov 2013

The Ice Cage - A Scandinavian Crime Thriller set i&hellip by Olivier Nilsson-Julien

I've bought and thoroughly enjoyed low priced books and also Scandinavian crime novels.
This doesn't qualify. Unbelievable hero in Magnus the BBC accountant, formulaic events, feeble structure.
Instead of disabling the evil psychopathic mad scientist when the hero and his police ally have the chance; they go on the run themselves, thus stretching out the agony for the reader by another 50%. I did wonder if part of the problem could've been a poor translation but alas the writer does not have this as an option.
Shame, there was some initial promise, interesting setting, but just doesn't deliver
