Kitchen Timer Tomato by Hardware Shed
Kitchen Timer Tomato by Hardware Shed
Oh, this item describes itself as a "kitchen" timer, but it's really underselling its value as a productivity tool. Set yourself a task, set the timer (easier than setting on my mobile - by the time I unlock the screen, find the app ... you get the idea). I'm not saying it's THE answer to personal productivity nightmares, but it's a funky tool to help you stay focused. You only want to spend 5 minutes on Facebook - then set the timer!. The timer can also be used OCCASIONALLY in a training workshop to time an impact activity. And it's merely described as a "Kitchen" timer. Hey ho. It probably times stuff in the kitchen - but I've never used it there.

The One Minute Manager Builds High Performing Team&hellip by Kenneth Blanchard
Written in the style of a story, this style of the book may not be for everyone. However it's a book that I continue to recommend to my clients. It's easy to read, with some great insights around the changing dynamics of a team. Sometimes I wonder if it goes too quickly from describing something simply - to adding too much complexity, and as another reviewer has pointed out - "stacked in favour of the manager". But the content is sound, and I suggest you will take what you need from the book - and because of the depth - it may be worth a re-read!

One Call Closing: The Ultimate Guide To Closing An&hellip by Claude Whitacre
This book is described as "The Ultimate Guide to Closing Any Sale in One Call". Hmmm, I'm not a sales person (I'm a coach), but my business partner thrust a copy into my hands with the (smiling) dictat to "read it". I'm a co-director of a coaching business - and predominantly my skills are in and around coaching. THE BOOK IS GREAT - ESPECIALLY FOR COACHES! These questioning skills are skills that you have already - and the book takes away some of the mystique around selling. It's an easy to read, with great practical examples. Whether you're in sales or not - the likelihood is that you want more influence - this is a great practical guide. Thank you!
