Turn it Upside Down is a typical example of a band being signed up. When you listen to 'Kryptonite' you can imagine how long the ideas of those songs and lyrics had been in the pipeline for the band members. After the success of that, the record company gives them a year or two to come up with something just as good. The result is, a half decent, but half arsed second album.
The album is very middle of the road and not at all like kryptonite which is such a shame. Eric Schenkman is one of the best blues/funk guitarists I've heard, as anyone who's heard the Spin Doctors live album will agree. But this album sound dumbed down, almost as if they're witing songs for the sake of writing… Read more
