Dark Souls II (PS3) by Namco
5.0 out of 5 stars Great sequel, 12 April 2014
It could never have been as good as the first game, which was a masterpiece, but it makes a fine effort and manages stand head and shoulders above most new releases, including those on the next gen consoles. Very few games keep me interested for any great length of time these days but I really can't tear myself away from this one.

The game might be fun but it's pretty much impossible to tell as you can't even access the tutorial unless the servers are working, which is almost never. And the game launched yesterday. The game itself is probably great but EA deserve a good slapdown for this disaster, especially as there's no way of knowing when they'll sort it out. Never being able to play unless you're online and EA decide to let you connect to their servers is the worst DRM yet seen.

There is also no way to pause the game so if you get a call at an awkward moment you're going to have to choose between the game and your social life. Chances are you'll choose the game. No other game offers such a sense of reward and achievement when you finally do manage to break your way through its barriers and, unlike other… Read more
