Wadjda [DVD] [2012] DVD ~ Reem Abdullah
I first saw this film when it first came out and then only because it was scheduled on my shift. But I was so glad I saw it. Culture is a difficult subject to describe / understand but this film gives a genuine and non-judgemental insight into life in Saudi Arabia. The fact that the film has such a talented and endearing cast is a bonus. The young girl, who is the focus of the film, is very natural in her role, the co-stars are also well up to their task of creating a scenario that is both realistic and problematic in a country that is not keen on any sort of female empowerment. 5.0 out of 5 stars Playing made easy, 23 Oct 2011
This book takes students through the basics of learning the piano from the very beginning. It includes exercises and plans that develop, albeit slowly, the essential ingredients of learning the piano. A few parts of it I found a bit confusing, not sure why some of the exercises were there but then I am the other side of 50 and probably thinking too pragmatically. There are also2 C.D.s that are included so you can play along.

This film is based on the true story of how an Australian group of herdsman/women took a herd of cattle 1,000 miles accross the Australian outback to stop them neing destroyed. The Austrialina government wanted all homes to be burnt and all cattle destroyed so that the Japanese, who were soon to invade Australia, would not have access to them. The story has a commentary, the scenery (despite being black and white) is lovely, the action real. It is a good Sunday afternoon film with believable characters and a good storyline. It is an old film, but none the worse for that. Enjoyable.
