Overall, I found this book a disappointing experience. There were a number of technical errors which gives the book a sloppy feel and may prove confusing to users lacking confidence in their own ability to rationalise code examples.
I was also irritated to find a 85-page PEAR and PECL package listing in the back of the book, which appears to just be a reproduction of information from pear.php.net, and something which will probably be out-of-date by the time the book is delivered. I also found it annoying to find a quick start guide to a commercial product sold by one of the authors included in the book.
