I also had high hopes for this novel. But was left with a sore head reading her ramble on about nothing really in particular, it was like reading your own teenage diaries and cringing over how naive and petty you sounded. Is she trying to be artistic, hedonistic, philosophic, none of the above? Who cares? She IS trying to write a play but works in a salon as a hobby, to occupy her meaningless days (which is great!, she sweeps up hair, knows her place and life is so simple while shes there! most of all she gets relief from the never ending narcissistic monologue rattling around her brain), oh and i think she wakes up one morning and decides she doesn't want to be with her husband anymore,… Read more
