The Trials of Arthur: Revised Edition by Arthur Pendragon

A witty combination of poetry and polemic about Arthur Pendragon, self declared King of the Britons.
He stands in marked contrast to the generally acknowledged Royal Family; he takes no money from the State and lives in a caravan.
This is a fascinating, thought provoking read, charting the life to date of a remarkable man, an 'Idylls of the King' for the Twenty-First Century. Arthur's struggles to obtain public access to Stonehenge at the Solstice, taking on the might of the State during the most repressive period of recent British History is a worthy addition to the Arthurian legend. Given the choice, I think I might prefer to give my allegiance to Arthur instead of the Windsors.

This a gem of a story, comparable to Heinlein's "Orphans of the sky" I would be surprised if anybody who reads the first story in this sequence fails to go on to the next four. I would recommend just buying the omnibus edition, but be cautious if you must. A cracking yarn, enjoy.

My 9 year old was constantly watching excerpts of this on YouTube, so I bought her the DVD, and intrigued by the snatches I had seen we all sat down to watch it together. Lovingly drawn and intelligently written, this is the sort of animation I would prefer my child to be watching, and this seems to be her preference also. Excellent stuff.
