Does what it says on the tin! A great intro to the Beats or present for someone with casual interest. Sort of Beat poetry Greatest Hits album! Essential stuff though and good range of writers represented.

As a fan of all things Beat, I'd read a LOT about this movie and was glad to see it. It's pretty out there and a bit hard going at times, but I really enjoyed it and it's worth the work. The packaging is really good too. If you're buying it for Ginsberg and Burroughs, be warned they're not in a lot (esp. Ginsberg).

It's an okay album, but he ain't his dad when it comes to lyrics but then who is? The photography seems to suggest he's embracing his history a bit more than in his Wallflowers days. Worth a few listens, but won't win any new fans.
