Cro-Magnon: How the Ice Age Gave Birth to the Firs&hellip by Brian Fagan
Brian Fagan is consistently entertaining and informative even though for some of his conclusions/speculations there is little hard evidence. I am reading his book on my Kindle currently but have now ordered a print copy. My reason is that the many diagrams in Fagan's text are too small on the Kindle to be of much use or even readable without a magnifier. Also the author often references diagrams/illustrations located some pages away - back or forward - which can be irritating on the Kindle.
For speed of reading the text, I would still opt for the Kindle version saving some 19 on the print copy but for serious study the print copy would be essential. As the Kindle version is under 2,… Read more
And Another Thing ...: Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's&hellip by Eoin Colfer

2.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately a miss, 29 Jan 2013
Having read the "trilogy" a number of times I was doubtful that Colfer could provide a "must read" addition. Well I have just finished "And Another Thing" and find my doubts justified. A lot of the alleged humour is pretty infantile and the plot/plots unengaging. I guess that in the later volumes of Adams it was inevitable that the content and style should lose some of its novelty. And unfortunately Colfer has continued this trend. Whilst the trilogy will stay on my bookshelf and be read again and again Colfer will only be there for completeness and I doubt that it will get a frequent airing.
