This album is by far one of the best things to come out in 2008. i hadnt heard a great deal by this band but i was drawn to the depth and consideration which had went inot the album artwork.
Its hard to pin point a particular artist to which to compare fleet foxes too, its more like a combination of many, midlake, nick drake, neil young, my morning jacket.
All of which are most def worth a listen if you like this album. to me there isnt a bad track on the album and everyone is a musical array on the ears, star spangled, acid tinged pop/folk at its very finest.

i had been waiting for the follow up to martha's critically acclaimed debut self titled album. this shows pure genius, simply anything that is touched by martha shines a light. obvious cameo's from parent's and brother rufus and the immense pete townsend.
my fav track although the decision was difficult is 'jesus and mary' powerful in many ways, vocals put massive emphasis on the quite basis but quirky background music.
other stand out tracks, opening rocker 'bleeding all over you' lots of wording and promoting of the album title and 'comin tonight'. comin tonight gives the first taste of pete townsend on guitars, marthas vocals are sounding early joni mitchell to patti smith… Read more

some of the songs are quite difficult to describe in comparison to other artists but for most part ive decided to go with the sound of early drive by truckers but not as gruff sounding as jason isbell's voice.
opener 'top of your head' is very quirky and is a bit of a rambling along tune with plenty of heart and soul. 'defender' is one of my fav tracks and again sounds very diffenerent to the first, more like big country mixed with vocal talents of the band, strange but true! 'no one… Read more
