How To Squander Your Potential - The Smart Es &&hellip by Christopher Howell
If you were a hardcore DJ/Raver in the nineties then you will really enjoy this book. It brought back some very fond memories of visiting my local record shop, buying tunes, going raving and reading Eternity or Scene mag.

When the internet simply did exist, this is a candid account of Luna-C's acsent to Top 40 success and the subsequent challenges (and opportunities) it entailed, including setting up Kniteforce Records - a very influential and much loved hardcore record label.

Loads of information/stories that I had no idea about. For example, stories about some of the vinyl I bought from my local record shop all those years ago.

30 Rock - Season 1 - Complete [DVD] DVD ~ Tina Fey

One of the funniest series currently about, which again is overlooked by UK tv. Not quite on a par with Arrested Development (criminally neglected by UK stations) but more accessible (more character development investment in Arrested Dev before it really sucks you in). Everyone seems to talk about Alec Balwin, and he is excellent in this, but it really is an ensemble piece. Consistently funny - and I can't say that about too many shows at the moment. Waiting for season 2 to come out in UK. Bargain price at Amazon for stacks of episodes.
Mad Men - Complete Season 1 [DVD] DVD ~ Jon Hamm

I purchased Mad Men after recommendation from Charlie Brooker on Screenwipe. Normally he is spot on with reviews and this drama was no exception. Similiar in structure to a soap opera where events unfold over a long time and characters take time to develop. It has been said that the drama is "slow burn" however, I thought every episode was gripping. I went from completing season 5 of The Wire straight to this, and thought that this drama would be a chore to watch! I was so wrong and this really is an achieement in writing, direction and style. Bargain price from Amazon too. There is nothing quite like it at the moment and was a complete viewing pleasure on DVD.
