I love Peter Green.I make no bones about it.Man of the World is firmly a feature on my desert Island.I also do not live in the past,quite the opposite,I crave new,exciting,invigorating material from this fallen genius.I get glimpses of this live,but on record,it all seems a little stilted.Reaching the Cold 100 should be Peter returning to roots blues,route one,guitar,a blues tune,and a harp.Yes,we do get all three on this,but I'm sorry to say,the sound around him is,well,shoddy.
The drums sound like a blues bands home demo from 1989,the bass playing from the best forgotten part of the eighties,and the songs..brilliant in part,dreadful in others.
