It took my cats less than an hour to work out that pushing out and playing with the section that contains the filter was a great game. This means that the litter tray always has a gap in the top which lets out all the smell, making it effectively redundant.

I bought it as it seemed to have a design that would keep much of the smell in, it's just the bit that holds the filter is badly designed and flimsy, and any half intelligent cat will just pull it out of the lid. Back to the drawing board.

A friend introduced me to this book when they cooked something from it one day. I bought it soon after and have cooked a great many of the recipes. I haven't found one that isn't a) easy to make and b) delicious. My kids love it when they know we've cooking something from this book as everything has been very successful.

The great thing is that with a staple cupboard of a few quality and easy to obtain ingredients - Mirin, Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Sake, Hoi Sin Sauce, Sesame Oil etc. - you have the basis for many of the recipes. Rec was a masterpiece - original and well made and highly imaginative. The performances in it were really good and the sense of mayhem the characters experienced worked very well. Rec 2 tries way too hard to be original and it is this that makes it fail as at times it becomes so genuinely silly that it's tempting to switch off. The intensely serious expression of one of the central investigators - the one with the dog collar - actually began to make me laugh as the actor tries to squeeze every ounce of mood and determination into the role to the extent that he becomes a caricature of himself by the end.
