Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock
Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock
No laughs here, in Donald Ray Pollock's collection of short stories set in one-horse town Knockemstiff. But they're well-told tales, properly structured, that bring to vivid life the rabble of lowlifes that seem to comprise the majority of the town's population. If you like perky tales about high-achieving people this is not for you, but I liked it a lot.

4.0 out of 5 stars A handy reference, 12 Jun 2014
It's a bit tricky to set up, but there's a useful video on YouTube to show you how. So far readings have chimed in with what I've been told by the doctor, and I'm planning to use it as a regular supplement to official tests.
Both the Ladies and the Gentlemen by William Donaldson
Both the Ladies and the Gentlemen by William Donaldson
5.0 out of 5 stars Very funny indeed, 12 Jun 2014
Willy Donaldson chronicles the low life of a gentleman pimp. It's a hell of a funny book, and a disgrace that it's out of print. Genuinely funny novels are few and far between, and Both The Ladies And The Gentlemen pisses from a great height on most Kindle books masquerading as comic masterpieces.Highly recommended.
