Wrapped up in the analysis of an enigmatic woman who tries to remove herself from life, this book gently and thoughtfully explores what it means to be human. It's a deft and sympathetic acknowledgement that the greatest challenges in life are about how to love and be loved. Salley Vickers shows such a depth of knowledge about psychology and behaviour, and it gives her observations and characters a simple truth. This was such a pleasure to read and is a book that really stays with you.
