The Lost Tribe DVD ~ John Bach
The Lost Tribe DVD ~ John Bach

New Zealand and Australia produced some wonderful creepy movies back in the seventies and eighties, Picnic At Hanging Rock, Death Warmed Up, The Last Wave etc, I could go on for ages.
This to me is a shamefully overlooked classic from the Kiwis.
Set on a spooky secret Maouri burial island off the coast of New Zealand Edward searches for his identical twin brother Max (an archeologist searching for the remains of a lost tribe there) who it appears has absconded after commiting the murder of a prostitute back in the city. To make matters worse it looks as if Max is trying to pin the murder on him. The police have already searched the island and declare that Max must be dead by now… Read more
Horror Rises From the Grave [DVD] [Region 1] [US I&hellip DVD ~ Peter Cushing
5.0 out of 5 stars Horror, 6 Feb 2014
Transferred from old VHS tapes the four movies contained within this box set are at times of rather poor quality.
At least two of the movies, although under different titles, can be obtained easily on proper DVD release but this purchase is really worth it because it has a decent copy of "The Ghoul" starring Peter Cushing.
The tape it has been transferred from looks as if it was in good condition and until a digital release comes along this is a great way to see this little classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucio's Finest., 6 Feb 2014
Out of "The Big Four" horror movies that Lucio Fulci directed I would say the choice is tough, "Zombie Flesh Eaters", "City Of The Living Dead" and "House By The Cemetery" are the others in the running and each one a classic in its own right, but for me "The Beyond" is the the most interesting and best made of the selection.
At times I found the plot rather confusing and sometimes not making much sense at all but the style and the atmosphere of this haunted hotel / zombie movie come together to make this Lucio Fulci's finest moment.
