This is a real book about real bike races and it's the best book about racing I have read.
The foreword by Bob Roll is excitingly written and a great taste of what is to come in the book.
What I found so refreshing is that Joe does not try to settle scores or name drop, he just describes and develops characters so that you feel like you know them. He is brutally honest about his own ability and the choices he makes.
I knew before I started reading that Joe's story was not going to finish in a yellow jersey on the Champs, or even on TV with Oprah, and this made the ups and downs through the book even more readable.
