This 7th edition of Whish's classic textbook is fully updated to take account of the Lisbon Treaty, the Commission's Guidance document on the enforcement of Article 102 and the new Vertical Block Exemption, amongst others. As always, the book continues to explain this vast area of law in an engaging and accessible way, both for LLB and LLM students. Almost every topic and sub-topic is cross-referenced with suggestions for further reading, so again 'Competition Law' is very handy for those starting a dissertation and in need of some useful direction. AQA GCSE Economics Student's Book by David Horner

Despite being 'exclusively endorsed' by AQA, this book is very thin, lacking in substance and contains very few useful exercises (particularly in the later chapters). As far as I'm aware, there are no teacher's answers for any of the exercises and this is one less reason to recommend the book.

Important topics are all too often glossed over, leaving students unprepared for the exam - unless of course a lot of outside material from Tutor2U, Bized and other websites / textbooks are brought in (making this book of very little value). Now textbooks are not supposed to be the one and only source of information for a course, but nor are they supposed to be so inconsequential to pupil… Read more
