Having found that the Wi-Fi and GPS functions drain the battery relatively quickly on my new Canon EOS 6D, I thought it would be advisable to get a spare battery and ordered this PowerPlanet LP-E6. Unfortunately the first battery I received from PowerPlanet brought up the message "Communication with Canon LP-E6 battery is irregular. Continue to use this battery?" I use this as my main hard drive and use two 1TB Maxtor hard drives as backup. To be honest, there's not much to choose between the drives. Both makes power themselves on and off when required and have lightweight switched mode power supplies. The Western Digital drive is slightly smaller, is metal rather than plastic, and has the LED activity indicator at the rear. The Maxtor has a slightly longer USB cable, and has the activity LED is on the front. If I wanted another drive, I'd probably go for a Western Digital, but there isn't much in it.
